The Jine's story in the United States began in 1954, when 21-year-old George Gines immigrated from Greece. He started his journey working with his uncles at Critics Ice Cream, a family-run business that operated several ice cream shops throughout the Rochester area.

In 1961, George transformed one of those shops on West Main Street into a full-service restaurant—marking the beginning of the family's restaurant legacy.

A decade later, in 1971, George opened a new location on Park Avenue and named it Jine's. For over 40 years and now into a third generation, Jine's has become a neighborhood favorite by focusing on high-quality food, excellent service, and a clean, comfortable atmosphere.

Located in the heart of Rochester’s historic and culturally rich Park Avenue neighborhood, Jine's serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner—all day, every day. The warm, inviting setting pairs perfectly with consistently great food and service.
